Helping Pinoys help themselves . . .
Reviewing the current status of Filipinos, we noticed that many of us have been neglecting to take proper care of our health, probably because most of us are too busy with our everyday work. But the hard reality is, if we do not take the proper preventive measures to maintain a healthy lifestyle, then all that we have worked for will just be spent in endless hospital bills and medications. As most of us Filipinos would say, "sa mga panahon ngayon, bawal magkasakit". We cannot afford to get sick because we cannot afford to be absent from work - no work, no pay... We cannot afford to get sick because we do not have the extra finances for the medical bills... Simply put - we just can't afford to be sick!
So what can we do? Well if you can afford to get a medical insurance it would help a lot, even if it's just the basic Philhealth medical insurance. But what about the rest of the Filipinos who cannot afford even the government medical insurance? Although our government is really trying it's best to come up with good and affordable medical insurance program for the Filipino people, it will probably take some time before it acutally gets carried out. Again, so what do we do now? We help ourselves! - That means making use of everything around us to survive. There are a lot of free remedies and affordable remedies around us that we can actually use whenever we get sick. We can use the same remedies to avoid getting sick as well. These remedies have been in existence for the longest time, we just need to know what they are and how to use it. Recognizing this basic need of us Pinoys, we've started working with some companies to help us find ways to reach out to the different communities and find ways to minimize or help solve their various health concerns. We have started going around the different Barangays giving free lectures on "The Basics of Health for the Filipino Family" which offers practical and affordable solutions to both their nutritional and medical problems. We have also recently started the "Dengue Helpline" to assist those who are infected with the deadly Dengue virus are in Dengue hot spots. A simple phone call can save a life. The most recent program we've started is the "Bantay Kalusugan" Project which we offer to organizations or Barangays who would like to avail of the basic standard laboratory examination at a very minimal cost. the package includes: Blood sugar test (FBS), Total Cholesterol, Hdl and LDL- cholesterol, Triglycerides, SGPT (liver test), BUN, Uric Acid, Complete Blood Count (CBC), ECG, and Urinalysis, plus free eye examination if requested. The total cost of the package is normally in the range of P1200.00 to P2,500.00 (depending on where you're having it done). However throu the "Bantay Kalusugan" Project, the package will be available for only P500.00 because our partner company will be subsidizing the remaining cost. This is our way of contributing to the community. So for those of you who are interested in the Bantay Kalussugan Project, please send us an email at [email protected]. For all of us Pinoys, it's time to be more actively involved for ourselves and for our community. Let's start helping Pinoys help themselves! |
